Our DirtBound battery tray is the only direct bolt-in battery box available for the Jeep Cherokee. The battery tray is made from CNC cut .120" steel plate and formed to shape, it features a hole for the factory battery sensor that is equipped on the newer Cherokees.

Do you/can you make a mirror-image version of your Optima battery tray? I'm looking to install a 2nd battery on the driver side (after removing the air box). I understand that the foreign/diesel XJs had the battery in that location and that the tray was an exact mirror-image of the US tray.

That's the first we have heard of that! We could most definitely do that. We would of course prefer to build one in house first and test to make sure that will work. We would hate to build it ship it and find out it doesn't work!

Well I would certainly buy one, and I'm guessing a lot of other folks looking for a good 2nd battery solution would too. Let me know if you do plan on producing one as I would be happy to be your test customer.

I'm still looking for a driver side battery box. Any chance you will make one? I'd be happy to pre-order and/or be your tester if needed.
